Das World Wide Web (WWW) hat zu einer Fülle neuer Anwendungen geführt. Allerdings führt die technische Verfügbarkeit zu einer unübersichtlichen, sich täglich verändernden Menge von Dokumenten. Dadurch sind neuere Suchmaschinen, die Personalisierung, Web Mining und das Clustering von Web-Seiten wichtige Themen geworden. Die Beobachtung der Benutzung des Internet (Web Usage Mining) ist kommerziell interessant, kann aber auch z.B. zur Verbesserung des Zugriffs durch Caching genutzt werden. Auch die Bildung von communities kann durch Web Mining untersttzt werden.
In dem Seminar sollen die folgenden Themen besprochen werden:
