SemanticWeb

"The Semantic Web is a project that intends to create a universal medium for information exchange by giving meaning (semantics), in a manner understandable by machines, to the content of documents on the Web" (Wikipedia). Knowledge Discovery and processing plays an important role for the SemanticWeb. It enables to derive sematic annotations automatically from data either by Data Mining or by transformation. This is a basic enabling factor for the future of the Semantic Web, as it takes much of the work load from the users.
