Knowledge Representation
As with any other knowledge-based approach, building a compositional
modeller requires a formalism for the specification of its inputs, its
outputs and its knowledge base. The work developed here is loosely
based on the compositional modelling language [3],
a proposed standard knowledge representation formalism for
compositional modellers, but adapted to meet the challenges of the
ecological compositional modelling problems identified in the
introduction.
