Next-generation aircrafts and satellites capture pictures of Earth at high spatial and temporal resolutions. They create incredible opportunities for the investigation of climate change by capturing the large scale evolution of our planet’s surface, and particularly of its vegetation. This creates demand for high-quality and well-founded data analysis methods, which often also involves the use of machine learning, which also consider specific domain problems (e.g. cloud cover, data complexity).
